Project 3
Canyon Ranch, Miami Beach, Fl
Miami Beach | Florida
This oceanfront Zen Buddhist inspired sanctuary was designed by New York architect, Douglas Horst of Horst Design International and required impeccable level or craftsmanship and detail as there was a wide variety of select imported finishes throughout. With the architect and owner in New York, KM/Plaza was responsible for an increased level of quality control, and it was early on in the project that KM/Plaza secured a high level of confidence with the design team and owner to make numerous on-sight decisions affecting the overall design.
The project required rigorous mechanical, electrical, and fire protection meetings to coordinate the complex ceiling design. An upgraded fire protection system, improved mechanical system with single slot linear diffusers, custom wrapped Holly Hunt fabric ceiling panels, designer lighting, and audio system were a few of the items custom installed in the unit ceiling.
The dividing wall between the Master Bedroom and Living room was demolished, and tailored Asian inspired sliding door system from “Ray Door” was installed transforming the two bedroom apartment into a Loft like environment. A low profile Asian inspired bed with a hidden “pop-up” and rotating 50” LCD TV was custom fabricated and installed to perfectly fit in the master bedroom. The careful attention to detail is apparent in the illuminated 9’-0” tall carefully stacked pebble rock wall, the seamless zebra wood wall paneling, and flawless transitions from the hand scraped oak wood floor to the polished pebble river rock. Custom closets, motorized window treatments, Lutron dimming system, and a completely renovated master bathroom complete this successful project.
